Classes and Workshops

What are the possibilities at Key Town Swing?

At Key Town Swing we offer weekly classes and workshops in a variety of different Vintage Swing dance styles. Our main focus has always been Lindy Hop, with Charleston and Authentic Jazz (or Solo Jazz) added in weekly classes, and Collegiate Shag. Other dance styles like Blues and Boogie Woogie are offered from time to time as well.

Unless otherwise specified, all our weekly classes take place at our studio in the monumental Volkshuis Leiden, located at Apothekersdijk 33.

If you want to seriously work on your technique one-on-one, or want help in creating your wedding dance, you might want to consider taking private classes with us. It is also possible to book us to teach a company workshop or group class, for instance for your bachelor(ette) party!

Registrations Are Open!

We will start up all our regular classes in September. See the full schedule below, or go straight to the registration form by clicking this button:

We will be offering beginner classes for both Lindy Hop and Collegiate Shag in September, as well as levels 2 and 3 in both styles. Other courses like Tap, Solo Jazz and Blues are still in the pipeline, and will likely be offered in a later block.

Full Schedule
All class dates are continuous, without any breaks or holidays.
Lindy Hop level 1: 24 Sep - 17 Dec, 19:00-20:00 (13 weeks)
Lindy Hop level 2: 10 Sep - 12 Nov, 20:15-21:15 (10 weeks)
Lindy Hop level 3: 8 Sep - 10 Nov, 20:15-21:15 (10 weeks)
Collegiate Shag level 1: 25 Sep - 18 Dec, 19:00-20:00 (13 weeks)
Collegiate Shag level 2: 11 Sep - 13 Dec, 20:15-21:15 (10 weeks)
Collegiate Shag level 3: 11 Sep - 13 Dec, 20:15-21:45 (10 weeks)*
*) Please note: Shag level 2 and 3 will be combined for the first hour, then level 3 has an extra 30 minutes of more challenging material.

Class Fees & Discounts
Beginner courses are €162,50 (13 classes, €12,50 per hour).
All other courses are €140 (10 classes, €14 per hour).
Signing up with a partner and/or with no role preference gives you a 10% discount.
Signing up for extra courses in the same block gives you a 25% discount on those courses.
Students can apply for a 20% discount.

There will be more taster classes in the run-up to the new block. While most are still being planned, we already have a few coming up during our Summer Classes:
Lindy Hop taster - Wed 20 August, 19:00-20:00
Collegiate Shag taster - Wed 27 August, 19:00-20:00
Both taking place at our studio in Volkshuis Leiden, Apothekersdijk 33. These taster classes are €5 each.
